China 2.5

2.5 million people...The equivalent of 30 Super Bowl stadiums filled to capacity.

Jesus Christ is working in powerful and extraordinary ways in the nation of China.  As a result of a great spiritual revival within the house church movement, Bibles are being distributed, leaders are being trained, fresh vision is being birthed and thousands of new churches are being planted every day, as Christ is building His kingdom here in China.

China is a nation like none other. Rich with history, and the largest nation in the world, China is poised to become the largest economy and soon the country with the largest number of Christians of any nation.  Capitalism is everywhere . . . but that capitalism does not translate into religious freedom.

Yes, the Gospel in China is flourishing, but there are still many obstacles to overcome and needs that must be met.  Despite 50 years of severe persecution and intense political pressure there are now more than 100 million believers in China. Most of them meet secretly in house churches.

 These Chinese men and women are just like you and me. They have families, jobs, and responsibilities . . . but with one big difference. They lay their lives on the line every day just for being Christians. Recently, in many locations, efforts to stop the spread of Christianity have intensified. Churches have been closed, Bibles seized, and pastors arrested...

Religious freedom is for the “government sanctioned” churches only . . . those churches that say and do only what the government allows.  To even own a Bible, you must register with the government. Christians who refuse to register face extreme persecution and are forced to meet secretly underground.  One Chinese pastor told us, “Jesus is not the head of the registered churches, the government is.”

 Christians in China need our help. They need the Word of God...

 We have a vision to provide one million Bibles for China.  One million Bibles can result in 15,000 new house churches, and potentially produce over 2.5 million new Christ followers.

 UPDATE....On our most recent visit to China, we were able to meet with 70 Chinese church leaders and discuss how we were going to effectively reach China's next generation in the most strategic ways possible.  Out of these meetings, a new strategy was birthed in seeing this vision come true.

Our new vision is this: To format, produce, and distribute 5,000 USB "thumb drives" containing a full version of the Bible in both the Mandarin and English language as well as other discipleship materials that will, through redistribution, reach millions of Chinese university students.  

Each 4GB USB drive will be disguised as a key for discreet distribution and portability, and will contain the following materials:

• A full version of the Bible in both Mandarin and English
• A clear presentation of the Gospel
• Discipleship training materials
• Bible Study materials
• Reference books and videos
• Worship music

One student contact will distribute the contents of each USB drive to 50 collaborative student leaders.  Every student leader will then redistribute the content to 20 other students each.  Just one USB drive has the potential to influence approximately 1,000 Chinese students.

If 5,000 USB drives circulate this way, we can potentially reach 5 million students with the Gospel of Jesus Christ over the next two years.

This opportunity can be the "key" to opening the door to Gospel revival among the next generation in China.  Imagine a university student, who has never had access to Christian materials, being able to read God's Word in the privacy of their own dorm.  Along with that, they will have a clear presentation of the Gospel and discipleship materials literally at their fingertips.  This kind of freedom is virtually unprecedented. 

The distributing of 1 million physical copies of the Bible would normally cost around $5 million dollars and take several years to accomplish. Using this strategy, we will be able to produce and distribute 5,000,000 copies of God's Word for only $100,00.  That's five times the impact for only 2 percent of the original cost.

Each thumb drive is only $20 and covers the cost of the content, formatting, production and distribution to the Chinese students.  The potentially for impacts is remarkable

• $20 provides 1 USB drive and impacts 1,000 students
• $100 provides 5 USB drives and impacts 5,000 students
• $1,000 provides 50 USB drives and impacts 50,000 students

We truly believe this an historical opportunity for us to spread the Gospel in one of the most spiritually ripe harvest fields in the world.
