I am grateful for a wise board of directors, a devoted staff, prayerful and generous supporters, and a great and awesome Christ who longs to renew his church with supernatural power. Our pastoral coaching ministry continues to flourish. No ministry that we know of is giving leaders such practical help in implementing prayer into the life of the church.
If we long to see our churches making a supernatural impact, we must equip and empower our leaders to lead with the right priorities and the right tools. That begins by equipping them with the tools to lead in prayer.
In the last 12 months, we have coached over 200 church leaders and individuals from all across the world. We are now making plans to bring on and train additional coaches, allowing for multiplied capacity and impact in 2020.
Your support allowed us to be a major part in over 30 events across the globe. In some settings, we brought a message of renewal to local congregations, but many times we were in multi-church settings representing thousands of churches and leaders. This year, we were able to minister in:
We say often that prayer is “more caught than taught”. Events are a critical opportunity for us to not only teach on prayer, but to show people first-hand how powerful and life-giving prayer can be when we encounter God together.
PASTOR MIKE MITCHENER LEADING IN THE CITY-WIDE PRAYER GATHERING
Pastor Mike Mitchener planted Westside Fellowship in Elon, NC in 2001. Since that time, God has developed a passion for prayer in Mike’s life in ministry, through his connection with Strategic Renewal and The 6:4 Fellowship. Today, Mike now serves as a Regional Leader for The 6:4 Fellowship.
Earlier this year, Mike led his congregation through Strategic Renewal’s 21 Days To Breakthrough Prayer book. What began as one church’s burden to pray and seek God – became a city-wide movement. Through Mike’s local leadership and influence, 21 churches took part in this movement, with churches praying and fasting for a different pastor each day.
This 21-day prayer experience culminated in a multi-church prayer gathering, where ten churches gathered at the center of the city’s largest shopping mall. Pastor Mike Mitchener comments,
“I will be leading a time worship-based prayer and communion with several of our churches, right in the heart of our mall (where Santa will soon sit during Christmas time). This may be one of the scariest things I’ve ever done, but we know we must seek God together, for the health of our churches and our city.”
When pastors like Mike Mitchener follow God’s call to lead His people in prayer, supernatural work begins to happen. They begin too see fruit that only God can bring about. Churches and cities become transformed for the glory of Christ.
The priority of early Church leaders was clear and simple: “We will give ourselves continually to prayer and the ministry of the Word” (Acts 6:4). No strategy has been devised in the intervening 2,000 years that adequately replaces that priority.
In a day where prayerlessness, Scriptural infidelity, and leadership failure mar the character of the North American church, we are calling leaders young and old back to the commitments that bring supernatural impact.
With your help, we have begun the launch of The 6:4 Residency. This effort is designed to raise up a new generation of faithful, reliable, and Spirit-empowered leaders for Christ’s church. Forging new pastors to guide believers in the proven 6:4 pathway will lead to the powerful renewal we so desperately need.
We continued to provide weekly devotional, video, and leadership resources throughout the year. These weekly resources were regularly sent out to our community of nearly 10,000 individuals, pastors and church influencers.
In addition to our free weekly resources, we have been able to publish a brand new devotional for 2020 called, 21 Days To The Deeper Life. This new devotional will help believers with with greater intentionality and integrity, while fulfilling the daily duties of life with fresh focus on the glory of God.
