The Great Southwest Prayer Center

The Great Southwest Prayer Center in Katy, TX is a multi-faceted, multi-denominational, community prayer room established for the city of Katy, as well the greater Houston region and beyond.  It truly is a house of prayer for all nations.

As an extension of the ministry of Grace Fellowship UMC in Katy, TX, the GSWPC is the collaborative efforts of over a dozen churches in Katy, contributing to over 120 hours of prayer every month on behalf of the city and the nation.

Open 24/7 to the public, the GSWPC offers several distinct rooms for both corporate, small group, and private prayer, each with unique prayer stations and interactive prayer ideas. They also offer live-music sets of worship and prayer every day, along with 24 hours of unbroken prayer from the Friday to Saturday afternoons. Live feeds from the International House of Prayer in Kansas City are broadcasted in when live music is not being played. The GSWPC is also equipped with a call-center where people can call in and receive prayer from a live representative.

We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Brenda Martin, director of the GSWPC, as she shared about the design of the center and how it is used.  In this video, she will describe two of the main rooms of the prayer center: The Moravian Room (equipped with multiple prayer stations) and the Audience of One Room (for corporate worship gatherings). We encourage you to watch it and consider ways in which the Lord might be calling you to make greater efforts in ensuring His house is a house of prayer.
