2 Timothy 4:17-18 – But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was rescued out of the lion’s mouth. 18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom; to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Opening Song Suggestion — The Solid Rock
I. “But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me,” (v. 17a)
- Prayers for praise for His strength in our lives
- Turn to one other man and pray, “Lord, thank You that You stood with me and strengthened me when . . . .” (thinking of times of trial, loneliness, disappointment, discouragement, family crisis, etc . . .)

II. “so that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished,” (v. 17b)
- Prayers for a greater work of the word in our hearts
- Personal prayer time to confess those things that prevent or hinder the proclamation of the Gospel being fully accomplished
- Personal prayer time to pray about fresh commitments to allowing the proclamation of the Gospel to be fully accomplished

III. “and that all the Gentiles might hear;” (v.17c)
- Prayers for ALL the Gentiles to hear
- Gather in groups of 3-4 and pray that ALL the Gentiles will hear
- Lost people in your own community
- The nations of the world through your church missions endeavors
- Gather in groups of 3-4 and pray that ALL the Gentiles will hear

IV. “and I was rescued out of the lion’s mouth. The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, (v. 17d-18a)
- Prayers of thanks for Lord’s promise to rescue from every evil deed
- Continue in groups of 3-4, thanking the Lord for his protection from specific evil deeds (attacks, temptations, distractions, etc)
Song Suggestion: How Great is Our God (chorus on screen)
V. “and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom;” (v. 18b)
- Prayer of thanksgiving for the hope of His heavenly kingdom
- One at a time, individuals proclaim out loud and boldly, “Thank You Lord that when you bring me safely to Your heavenly kingdom . . . .” (reward, reunion, worship, fellowship with other saints, etc . . .)
Song Suggestion: Oh That Will Be Glory for Me
VI. “to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.” (v. 18c)
- Prayers – repeating this last line in unison – “to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.”
