Prayer Guide: Developing Praying Leaders

This prayer guide, inspired by the chapter titled Developing Praying Leaders in Strategic Renewal’s resource 21 Days of Prayer for the Next Generation, is focused on seeking God’s face through the following passage.

Mark 11:15-19

15 And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. 16 And he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. 17 And he was teaching them and saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers.” 18 And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way to destroy him, for they feared him, because all the crowd was astonished at his teaching. 19 And when evening came they[a] went out of the city.

REVERENCE

Identify and celebrate God’s praiseworthy attributes

  • Displays righteous anger (v. 15)
  • Purifies the purposes of the temple (v. 15)
  • Cleanses distraction and competition for our devotion(v. 16)
  • The authoritative owner of the temple (v. 16, 17)
  • Teacher of truth and fulfiller of Scripture (v.17)
  • Makes a way for all nations to be in relationship with Him(v. 19)
  • To be feared (v. 18)

  • Jesus, I praise You for having authority over… (vv. 16-17)
  • Jesus, I worship You for teaching me the truth about prayer that… (v. 17)

RESPONSE

Surrender to Him and His ways
